On the sixteenth day of Israel’s war on Gaza, fighters jets, vessels and tanks continued to pound the Gaza strip overnight into Sunday. More houses have been targeted, more civilians have fell martyrs and injured in this day’s excessive use of internationally prohibited white phosphorus shells.
Palestinian medics said at least four Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded early Sunday. Doctors said burn wounds were caused by banned white phosphorous shells, with Israel denying the charge. Exposure to white phosphorus may cause burns and irritation, liver, kidney, heart, lung, or bone damage, and death.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Thursday that four of its ambulance cars managed to reach a number of homes in the Zaitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City on Wednesday evening after days of the area being out of bounds.
ICRC had been requesting a safe passage for its ambulances to reach the wounded since 3rd January, but they only got permission from the IOF on the afternoon of Wednesday 7th January. ICRC stated that a joint team of ICRC personnel and Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) personnel found, in one of the houses, four children next to the corpses of their mothers who were killed by the IOF, they have been without food or water for four days. The United Nations Security Council approved Gaza Strip ceasefire resolution number 1860. The resolution, submitted by Britain, passed with a majority of 14 votes. The United States abstained from voting. Notably, the word “Hamas”, the key Palestinian party in the Israeli war on Gaza is not mentioned in the document. Medics say 670 Palestinians, including 215 children and 98 women, have been killed in the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip.
Gaza emergency services chief, Moawiya Hassanein, also said on Tuesday that more than 3,035 Gazans have been wounded during Israeli attacks on the impoverished region.
The toll includes 43 civilians who were killed and 100 wounded when Israelis struck a school in Jabaliya, northern Gaza, he added.

The head of the loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohamad Raad stressed the resistance in the Gaza Strip has learned from the resistance in south Lebanon.

The Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zeidi, who hurled his shoes at US President George W. Bush on Sunday, has sparked a wave of support in the Arab world. Dozens of Palestinians took part Tuesday in a rally in the Gaza Strip in solidarity with the Iraqi journalist.
